Were deemed essential

So the pandemic for me was interesting. I was deemed an essential worker. I worked for a solar company, which made me feel intrigued because that doesn’t to me seem essential. Yet I was, I still had a job. I wasn’t furloughed and, To me, it was still scary, right? There were not many people within my company who came into the office, except for me.

And when I went to a customer’s house, it was always masking up and all this, everything that we were doing to be as safe as possible. Because we were deemed essential. It was a very, very weird time in my life that we had to do this. So yeah, I guess at the end of the day, we did what we had to do, but it was not something that I liked doing, as far as the safety of others and all this and being deemed essential is.

Different to everybody and I thought it was madness that we were doing it at all. So yeah, there was a lot behind the scenes going on as far as people, the company wanting to make money, but we couldn’t make money unless we did a certain thing, therefore deemed essential.

And then we got money from the government. For doing said work. So yeah, it was definitely something that I felt was heavy and I didn’t really know how to react at the time. And trying to reflect on it now with the phone in front of my face is a little different. Anyway, yeah, so it was certainly a changing type of experience, it makes you see how.

People perceive other trades and all this stuff and how we got to keep the lights on, so yeah, I don’t know. I guess I think it’s I hope it don’t happen again, because a lot of my friends got hurt by it furloughed or fired or let go rather. And yeah, so it’s something that will always be in history.

But it’s we’ve, we’re trying to move through it. And it, COVID is always going to be a part of our life anyhow. So yeah, so thanks for listening.
