Lo siento.
I’m a big believer in the Chinese Zodiac. I swear by it. I’ve had much more time to research it.
And I’m a big believer in the Lunar New Year. If you don’t celebrate the Lunar New Year, I highly recommend it.
I try to celebrate it every year.
So in January 2020, I went to my favorite place to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
And that would be San Francisco’s Chinatown.
I love the people. I love the vibe. I love the food. I just love everything about it. So January 2020, I got some dim sum. He jumped as firecrackers went off. And we watched the dragons dance.
But we had a forewarning where you’re leaving not a bad year. 2019. Felt like we were coming to the end of something.
2020 was the beginning of the year of the rat. And we all sort of sensed it. I remember trying to say, no, no, it’ll be fine. It’s just not the year of the rat. It’s just going to be the year of the mouse.
And I bought a stuffed animal and I was trying to convince. I don’t know who I was trying to convince. I think I was trying to convince myself. And it was just going to be the year of the rat.
And you know what? 2020 was the year of the rat. It was the year of Pestilence.
And if that doesn’t make you a little believer, the Chinese zodiac, well, and I guess you and I were just going to have to agree to disagree.
