For me, the pandemic was a bit of a catch 22. While I lost a lot of friends and family to illness that I wasn’t able to go and see, I was able to purchase a home and was able to save up some money for a down payment. And by my very first home here in Boulder County, something I thought I’d never be able to do.
And thanks to some very low interest rates that became more possible for me. My home buying experience was definitely unlike anybody else’s, I’m sure, or unlike the normal. I did everything online and didn’t actually get to see anyone until the day I closed on my home. And it was very quick, but I’m very grateful and very lucky that I was able to do that during the pandemic.
And when I think about all of the things that we as a society lost, and the things that I lost personally, I come back to this home that I live in, and I think about how blessed I am to have these walls around me, and how lucky I am to put a roof over my head and to be able to provide for my family every day.
