HELLO.

You probably won’t use this contact form.

If you’ve ever wondered how these forms work, when you fill in the information and hit submit two things happen. First, a little record is created in the database under “submissions” showing your input. Then, when that new record is created, the system sends a request to a Perl Script or php file, which then reads the request and sends it to an email address.

That’s it.  It basically sends an email for you.

So why not send an email directly to Beckett ([email protected]) or Vu ([email protected])? We would probably do that, honestly. With modern UI/UX, you likely can just click on those emails, and your mail client will automatically open with the “to” field populated. Or, even better, you could just call Beckett (303.815.2098) or Vu (‭347.610.5607)‬.

So why the form?

First, it feels official… a low-key flex of “of course we can do this.” Second, it takes up space on the page. Without it, this would be a wall of text with nothing to even talk about beyond the contact info on the bottom of every page. And thirdly, there is this strange design concept called skeuomorphism that, essentially, uses older non-essential elements to give comfort to the user.

Remember when your calendar app had a leather border around it? Or when notes on your desktop looked like actual, physical sticky notes? That’s skeuomorphism. So, in a way, the inclusion of this form is sort of a “post-skeuomorphic” element, there for comfort and occasional convenience, but not strictly necessary from a UI/UX standpoint.

Finally, Godot isn’t exactly the type of team that people call out of the blue. If you are reading this, you’ve probably been introduced to us through a proposal, a referral, a conference, or a networking event. This entire site is serving to support that introduction, not create new business.

If you’ve made it this far, you clearly “get it.” So call, text, email, or fill out the form. Remember talking about curiosity in our core beliefs? We will take just about any meeting, frankly.

GODOT.
