Here’s a curveball

We created a targeted training program for Microsoft, focusing on vendor compliance and ethics. This training aimed to ensure vendors understood and adhered to Microsoft’s compliance standards and ethical guidelines. It covered key topics such as regulatory requirements, reporting obligations, and the importance of transparency in business dealings through interactive modules.

Here’s the twist: it needed to be done completely without Adobe products. No Photoshop, no Illustrator—only Microsoft products were used. The only exception was creating and distributing PDFs.

Lessons in structure and compliance

We went into the Eli Lilly project with low expectations, anticipating a long and dry engagement building a six-hour compliance training mandated by a billion-dollar settlement. Despite some early stumbles, our supportive and patient clients turned it into an incredible learning opportunity. Their encouragement helped us embrace a more structured design process, moving beyond our narrative instincts.

This experience taught us to break down complex content into manageable, engaging segments, resulting in a scenario-based training that exceeded federal standards and kept learners engaged. We were young and needed the money, but the lessons we learned were invaluable.
